Types of organisations that have been approved for this exemption include:

  • Apex clubs

  • Country Women's Association branches

  • Hospital auxiliaries

  • Legacy clubs

  • Meals on Wheels

  • Playgroups

  • Rotary clubs

  • Senior citizens associations and clubs

  • Volunteer bush fire brigades

  • Scouts, Cubs etc

  • Girl Guides and Brownies

  • Lions clubs

  • Neighbourhood Watch groups

  • Parent & citizens associations

  • Quota clubs

  • RSL sub-branches (not RSL clubs)

  • Surf life saving clubs

If your organisation falls into one of the above categories complete the Application for Exemption from Duty - ODA 006 form and submit it to the Office of State Revenue. If your application is successful, you will receive an approval letter from OSR.

If you have requested an exemption on a motor vehicle, this letter should be submitted to the RTA with each application for registration.

If you have requested an exemption on an insurance policy, this letter should be submitted to your insurance provider so that your policy is not charged with duty.
